Let's Get This Party Started!

I never thought I would be here, again, behind my laptop writing up a blog post. I remember the blog I started in high school that I thought was so incredible. It was faith based and at the time I wanted to be a Gracie Parker or a Sadie Robertson with my inspiring, Jesus blogs to inspire young girls like me.

Welp—HA!

Here I am. Blogging, again! This time I’m not going to pretend to be someone I’m not, I’m not going to pretend to know what I’m talking about, and I’m not going to pretend that I’m going to be consistent with this because let’s be real. However, I do promise that I will try, that I will be intentional about each post, and that I am going to have fun with this!

One of the main reasons why I want to start blogging, especially sessions, is to have more of a storytelling platform. On my portfolio page, I have individual categories for some of my best and favorite sessions that showcase my work! Storytelling is one of the biggest parts of the photography world that sets photographers apart. I want to be able to include stories from our session, or quotes of how the couple met and what they love about each other most, or a senior’s future plans so that they can look back on the post years from now. Telling the story from beginning to end, will help people fall in love with a session the way I did when snapping the pictures.

Here are some of my favorite sessions, by the way!

However, through my research and personal experience from fellow photog friends, I have found that blogging is essential to any photography business. From a technical aspect, it is better for SEO and can reach way more people than your latest gallery in your portfolio. It is also an easy way for clients to share their experience with friends and family that allows them to comment and have conversation on the page!

So here we go. I’m pumped and I hope you are too. Here’s a sneak peak of what’s to come! Let me know if there’s a blog post that you want to see, a session you want shared, and any questions you have for me!
